Let's talk about it, because in this beautiful country everyone is terribly tolerant, at least in #theory.

The values of sharing and archiving when working

Even if only two persons are discussing the issue, the fact that it is on record and archived will/might help, even the silent readers. * some might confirm their own #opinions. * or they might be encouraged to make their own point because they have a slight #disagreement. * or they might bring to the table a point that the two persons in the 1:1 had not #thought about. * And quite important to me, it automatically describes the past, and leaves a trail of #data making it easier to connect the dots in 10 to 20 years from now.

Wikipedia is fixing one of the Internet’s biggest flaws

The Internet has so many cesspools, it's surprising to see what happens behind the scenes at Wikipedia.

Sunday Discussion: Cremation or Burial?

It was a topic in that one movie I watched recently. Though I don't know or remember if it is really the recommended practice in Buddhism, as an organized religion or not, to prefer cremation over burial of the dead, in order to celebrate the cycle of life.

Bild/Foto

But it came to my mind that it seems that the obviously most reasonable way, scientifically, would still be burial. This is what really celebrates the (re-)cycling of life. Your dead body contributes to the re-fertilization of the soil, instead of to accelerated entropy and the heat death of the universe.

And Buddhism claims to be more a reasonable philosophy than a religion, so I sense there is a contradiction. Thoughts and opinions?

The Frost Programme - Oswald Mosley (15th Nov 1967)This shows why the 1960s was the most tolerant of times Never ever been so tolerant since (see also ) Shows also David Frost at his best. Shows also that Mosley was, despite eloquent denials, in fact anti-semite -
though Frost, like so many, miss the decisive point:
Mosley categorised some of his political opponents as Jews and it is this categorisation, regardless whether meant positively or negatively, of a person according to their genes, which is racism. * Mosley was the leader of the British Fascists in the 1930s His Marriage to one one of the Mitford sisters - Diana Mitford, according to Wiki, took place at Goebbels home. A New Approach to Old Problems

So what would be different today? Two things: we have advanced tech tools (the #internet is a big one) and even more importantly, we have an advanced #awareness of ourselves and of our place in the #world. No longer do we face the cave wall, unidentifiable shadows dancing before us. We now use our great knowledge to fly around in outer space, to collide the smallest atomic particles, and...to exchange photos of cats.

Commenting on diaspora*

The Coral Project tries to make commenting on news site much better. Some of the thoughts they have in their public trello board might be interesting for new ideas about features and design on diaspora*.

Take "How can I find the best/most relevant comments?" on the list "Audience Needs" for example:

After "liking comments" or/and "mentioning people in comments" got implemented, we could build a new tab on single post view where you find the most liked/responded comments/users.

Maybe you have some more #ideas you can add by #commenting on this post. Some of them might be worth a #loomio #discussion.
