paniksells in bitcoinlandia
A into deep writing by Mike Hearn, together with several #bitcoin
core update proposals are creating a meltdown in all the mayor coins. This is most likely the first wave of reactions, as the blockchain community (industry) is facing special circumstances bitcoin is facing because of disagreement in the community and an overwhelming hashing power in china → behind the great fire wall.
Besides the most probably outcome that this will not make disappear bitcoin but disrupt right now it's evolution until the disagreements are sorted out, it is reasonable to consider which #blockchain
project do escape the problems bitcoin is actually facing.
Into the hashing power problem will most likely run every project that evolves into mining rig business as production sites will most likely be in china for now. So mean while it's good business to run them why sell them (far away)?
and bitcoin are taken by chinese trading sites, yet i'm not sure on the hashing distribution of litecoin which for now still runs on a lot of video cards.
Than there is #namecoin
, which merge mines with bitcoin and besides has problems with 51% mining powers. The values are very depressed so there is not a lot more to go down for namecoin, as it is in some eternal state of "maybe some one comes up with an interesting implementation" like decentralized nameserving federated web nodes??
is located at values of namecoin but it is definitely a different approach which might get more attention in the actual environment.
has an actually high value, is traded at btc-e (other traders?) has also a setup that intents to solve the hashing power issue and hasn't minted a overwhelming amount of units till now. As i understud from reddit etc. preminted coins where destroyed.
a peercoin clone that was completely preminted and distributed by airdrop. Afterwards most coins where recolected and located for projects discussed at fair.coop. Actually there is a faircoin2.0 proposed to get rid of the stake holders for the minting process and create a mecanism of certified minters. The proposal is still for discussion at fair.coop.
is also a different approach but i'm not up to date at all on it for now.
an interesting "use full" mining system that mines coins by helping to solve scientific investigation.
I guess that all bitcoin clones (#dash
etc.) will have the hashing power disadvantage, the actual circumstances might be bad publicity for them to.
These are the few cents i can add, as these are the coins i know about and tested at least up to the point of installing the respective blockchains and qt's (except next and gridcoin).
Information on other #coins
and opinions appreciated!(and yes, the #federatedweb is a "mayor stake holder of faircoins :)
